Career Development

High school students are preparing for transition into adulthood and the

world of work. Students are faced with many tough decisions: Who am I?

What do I do well? What will I do when I graduate? School counselors assist

students in evaluating their strengths, skills, and abilities in order to choose

an appropriate career path. Counselors provide information on post-

secondary options (Four-year and two-year colleges and

vocational/technical schools) as well as financial aid and scholarships.

Kuder College and Career Planning System

All sophomores will complete a career interest inventory and be given the

opportunity to research information on careers of interest to them in

their Keyboarding class. With their user name and password, students can

enter the Kuder site to view results, take a work values and a skills

assessment, and research career options. Students may also research

information on careers, post-secondary schools, college majors, and

scholarships. This website contains lots of great information. Any student

who would like to use the program and has not had the opportunity should

contact the guidance office.
